Datsun redi-GO 1.0L was recently launched in India for INR 3.57 lakh. The car is placed at a premium of INR 23,000 from the 800 cc redi-GO variant. This makes the new redi-GO 1.0L an effective rival against Maruti Alto K10 and Renault Kwid 1.0.
Datsun adopted the same strategy as Renault as they even introduced the Kwid in 0.8L variant initially and brought the bigger engine later. Apart from the change in engine and 1.0L moniker, only difference between 0.8L and 1.0L redi-GO is the use of all Black dashboard on the 1000cc variant.
As it comes with the same engine as Kwid 1.0, performance values are even similar at 68 PS and 91 Nm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox and claims 22.5 kmpl of ARAI certified fuel efficiency.
The launch date of AMT option on redi-GO has not yet been revealed. The shade options on offer are Red, Grey, White, Silver and Lime. All dimensions and capacities on the redi-GO 1.0L are same as the smaller version while buyers will definitely get remote central locking as an addition on the new variants.
The top spec Datsun redi-GO S 1.0L comes with driver side airbag and LED daytime running lights. This one is priced at INR 3.72 lakh, making it just INR 15,000 expensive over the redi-GO T (O) variant. Apart from these two, redi-GO is on offer in six different variants. The range starts from INR 2.41 lakh.
