2018 Datsun GO & GO+ Officially Unveiled in Indonesia

2018 Datsun GO and GO+ facelift were recently unveiled in Indonesia. Later this year, these face-lifted models will make it to India, making them important part of entry level car segment of the country. It was not given the desired space here because buyers here went back to back for smaller cars that also claimed smaller engines at same price as Datsun Go and Go+. The facial expressions of non face-lifted model are quite blunt and thus, chrome laden smaller hatchbacks, even their own Redi-GO, never left some space for these two value for money products. Leaked images of face-lifted Datsun GO were already available before the unveil. [caption id="attachment_211647" align="aligncenter" width="723"]2018 Datsun GO 2018 Datsun GO & GO+ Officially Unveiled in Indonesia[/caption] The cars are now seen with commanding front chrome grill, all new stylish bumper with sporty built and vertically placed daytime running lights, ORVM mounted blinkers, alloy wheels and sporty rear spoiler. Datsun GO is offered with CVT in Indonesia and thus, one could expect Tata Tiago and Maruti Celerio to have another capable rival in their way. Datsun GO+ is only available with 5-speed manual gearbox. GO has unmistakable resemblance with new Maruti Swift from the rear end as both cars have rear glass that flaunts extra slope and squarish tail lights. One can even imagine a Tiago and Figo out of this rear end. All these cars were launched after first version of Datsun GO. Possible for high selling brands to take inspiration from slow selling model for this rear end? Only they know the answer. The three cylinder 1.2L petrol engine on Datsun GO and GO+ is good for 68 PS and 104 Nm. This seems like a mild tune as most cars with this engine size are good for 80+ PS and 114+ Nm of torque. These car seen here are undoubtedly top variants with class leading features like alloy wheels, spoiler and touchscreen infotainment system. Both these updated entry level options will be available in India by end 2018.
