Fiat Argo was recently revealed internationally and seems to be a worthy successor to the existing Punto. The muscular car is a perfect hatchback with edgy design that not just looks good but also feels powerful in front of modern day small cars.
Now, Fiat Brazil has officially released the exterior and interior photos of the Argo and we must say that this hatchback is the best-looking car in its class and we wish Fiat considers Argo for the Indian market in future.
Even if you leave behind everything and just focus on the bonnet of the car, the flaunt friendly muscle can be noticed in its slope. This typical Argo in the images if for the Brazilian market, carrying wider grill, stretched headlamps, LED daytime running lights and a totally new bumper.
Something that even excites more is the use of precision cut alloy wheels with low profile tyres, rear spoiler, chrome exhaust tip and a perfect roofline. The car will start replacing Punto in the international markets, starting with Brazil and then moving forward to other markets.
The Indian entry for the same is still under question as Fiat India’s operational plan is still under a big question mark. The car looks actually better than any other hatchback of the same segment in India.
Fiat Argo is powered by three different petrol engine options in Brazil. The smallest in the lineup is a 1.0 liter, 78 PS / 107 NM motor while customers can opt for 1.3 liter, 111 PS / 139 NM motor. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 135 HP, 1.8 liter 141 PS / 189 NM unit is also available and offers 6-speed automatic gearbox as an option over the 5-speed manual unit.
The fastest engine-gearbox combination in the Fiat Argo helps the hatchback to attain a 0-100 kmph time of 9.0 seconds and a top-speed of around 192 kmph. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has current plans for expanding its engine manufacturing capacity in India as they have renewed a deal with Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors regarding diesel engines.
