Fiat Punto Gets Zero Stars in Euro NCAP Crash Tests

Fiat Punto Gets Zero Stars in Euro NCAP Crash Tests: The model tested here was equipped with dual front airbags but still was not able to keep its passenger compartment intact. The general description after the test was pretty simple. Old cars are not that capable as present generation cars in terms of safety.

They are, no doubt, heavier than present ones but structural integrity and rigidity plays a very crucial role in passenger safety. The brands who are not updating their cars regularly will fall behind in this race. Most modern cars got 3 stars for their very basic variants.

Fiat Punto Gets Zero Stars in Euro NCAP Crash Tests

Fiat Punto came into the market in 2005 and being a 12 year old model, it could not stand under the modern day speeds of crash tests. Markets like India and UK presently sell these models without paying any attention to buyers safety.

The crash tests are placed in such conditions that buyers could decide between various cars that are safer for them in all conditions. They urge everyone to go for better cars and stay safe under all conditions. Cars with five star ratings are rare in India and those with zero star includes few best sellers of all-time.

Euro NCAP’s recent research concluded that many brands are missing out on life saving features as standard. They do not cost that much but still, the cost cutting plans should not include these at all cost. Some of the present generation five star rated cars include Hyundai Kona, BMW 6GT, Jaguar F-Pace, Toyota Yaris and Kia Stinger.

Back in 2005, Fiat Punto was the first 5-star rated car of its segment. The variation in testing methods and speeds took the car to zero in 12 years. Fiat will soon replace the ageing models like Punto and Linea with better performing models like Argo and Cronos.
