2018 Ford EcoSport India Launch on November 9

Ford EcoSport is undoubtedly the best product one could buy under INR 10 lakh. The feature loaded trims by Ford India brings class leading safety to the compact SUV as top spec trim comes with 6-airbags for added protection. As per the latest details available, 2018 Ford EcoSport will launch in India on November 9, 2017.

New 2018 Ford EcoSport was recently unveiled in Brazil, looking exactly the same as North American spec model but carrying the tailgate mounted spare wheel that adds required muscle to this car. The cover has been redesigned while the front of 2018 EcoSport now looks more in sync with Ford’s SUV design language.

The front fascia now brings redesigned front headlights with projector headlights, L-shaped daytime running lights, new fog lamp design and bigger skid plate to the car. It runs on 17-inch alloy wheels on the Brazil spec model. If those changes on the outside are not that exciting for some fans, the interior will surely impress with its all new premium layout.

The car now gets 8-inch floating infotainment system, new console and all new dashboard layout with maturely designed vents and layers. Brazil spec car comes with dual tone interiors and covers technological features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Ford may bring the same features along with an all Black interior for India.

The most exciting factor for Brazil spec EcoSport is the use of 2.0 liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 174 HP of maximum power and 221 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) while provision of Ford’s Intelligent 4×4 (All-Wheel Drive) makes it even more effective than ever.

The cost restriction for the Indian spec model may not let them bring the feature to India. If launched, the same model could not be priced around INR 12 lakh (ex-showroom) in any circumstances. Ford India has updated its entire lineup and oldest product that needs an update is the Ford EcoSport itself.

Ford EcoSport is expected to get an all new 1.5L, 3-cylinder Dragon petrol engine producing 123 HP at 6500 rpm and 150 Nm at 4500 rpm. This engine is expected to replace currently available 1.5L, 4-cylinder petrol engine from the company lineup.

Most probably, they will keep 1.0L EcoBoost petrol as well as 1.5L 100HP diesel engine in the same tune as present generation EcoSport. Gearbox option on the new EcoSport will include 5-speed manual as well as 6-speed automatic unit.

2018 Model of Ford EcoSport will come with a starting price tag of around INR 7.50 lakh rupees and the top model would be available for around INR 11 lakhs (expected ex-showroom price). The key rivals of Ford EcoSport in India are Renault Duster, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Honda WR-V, Hyundai Creta, and Nissan Terrano.
