1968 Mustang Bullitt was an iconic car of its era, helping Steve McQueen (Lieutenant Frank Bullitt) chase the rival driving a 1968 Dodge Charger. 50th Anniversary of the film gets another tribute from Ford in the form of 2019 Mustang Bullitt.
Based on most recent variant of Mustang, Ford has added Bullitt touches to this car and made is special for all the fans out there. With undisclosed pricing, the special edition will be available few months later. Buyers will get the same dark highland green shade as the 1968 variant, further looking great without a badge on the front black grille.
Bullitt branding and 19-inch aluminum wheels with Red Brembo brakes looks similar to the original car. Interior flaunts the familiar white cue ball gear shift knob, further making the fact clear that buyers need to take over the manual variant. The steering wheel comes with Bullitt badge and offer standard heated feel.
Even the 12-inch console on this car has unique Bullitt welcome screen. Green stitching can be seen all over door panels, dashboard and seat covers. Optional features through Bullitt kit includes blind spot detection, navigation, memory option for front seats and semi active suspension.
Upgraded sound system is also optional on the 2019 Mustang Bullitt. Based on the 2019 Mustang GT, the Bullitt special edition is powered by the same 5.0L, V8 engine producing 475 HP and 570 Nm of torque. The top speed now comes to be 262 kmph.
The 2019 variant is advanced in terms of components as Ford has used Shelby sourced intake manifold, black nitro-plate exhaust tips and active valve performance exhaust system.
The original car was also revealed on that event, offering public a great view for their favorite car after almost 40 years. Ford Mustang is currently priced at INR 71.62 lakh for the 2018 year model in India.
