Ford EcoSport is an urban compact SUV which comes packed with quite a lot of features and performance. There is a lot that the entry level SUV from the company has to offer. The prices for the EcoSport start from INR 7,82,200 (ex-showroom Delhi), going all the way up to INR 11,89,300 (ex-showroom Delhi).
This compact SUV tackles with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Honda WR-V, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra TUV 300. However, there are some reasons why the EcoSport stands out from the crowd and must be considered as a strong buying choice.
The design of the EcoSport is quite unique. This urban compact SUV gives you the look and feel of the most you can get out of a proper SUV within this price range. The spare wheel which hangs at the tailgate brings out the SUV within this car. On the exterior, you will notice that the EcoSport is small enough to manoeuvre through tight spots and corners.
However, when you step inside, you will find that the car is quite spacious. There is an accented interior in the top-end variants of the EcoSport, with orange coloured accents on the EcoSport S and blue coloured interiors on the EcoSport Signature. Ambient lighting is present in the foot-wells in a wide variety of colour options.
There are more than 20 compartments in the EcoSport to store almost everything from your cup of coffee to your smartphone. The S and Signature variants also feature a sunroof which draws attention towards the car.
The EcoSport is full of technology. There is an 8-inch touchscreen with SYNC3 available on the top-end models while there is a smaller 7-inch touchscreen that is available on the lower models. There is voice command in the car that can answer calls or change music and ambient lighting. The headlamps turn on automatically when the way ahead is dark.
Other automatic features include the rain sensing wipers and the rear view camera which shows the road behind you when you put the car in the reverse gear. Key-less entry comes as standard on the higher trims of the EcoSport as does the cruise control with Adjustable Speed Limiter Device.
All these engines are punchy and give out quite respectable numbers. There is an option for a 6-speed automatic transmission on the petrol variants along with paddle shifters. The rest of the variants come with a 5-speed manual transmission, allowing the car to give certified mileages of 17 kmpl on petrol and 23 kmpl on diesel.
