Ford India has launched EcoSport Thunder, an all-new variant for their equally cherished SUV lineup. In addition to this, the brand has also slashed the prices of other variants of EcoSport. The popular compact SUV will now be available at a starting price tag of INR 7.69 lakh while the price goes all the way up to INR 11.33 lakh for the top-spec variant. The all-new Thunder variant of the Ford EcoSport has been priced at INR 10.18 lakh for the petrol variant and INR 10.68 lakh for the diesel variant. This variant has been specifically launched for replacing the Signature trim of the SUV.
The brand justifies the decrease in prices of the SUV as an outcome of the increased level of localization. Certain reports also suggest that the brand has dropped the prices of the EcoSport for competing in the market with the likes of the newly launched Hyundai Venue. Though the initiative might help increase the sale, the long term effects are still unknown. The all-new EcoSport Thunder SUV can be availed with 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine capable of churning out a maximum power of 123HP and 100HP respectively.
Coming to the key features of the EcoSport Thunder, the SUV resembles the higher spec variants of the car and gets all-new 17-inch alloy wheels, dark inserts on the headlamp cluster and on the doors. In addition to these, the fog lamp bezels, the front grill, and the wing mirrors have also been given a blacked-out look. The compact SUV features a dual tone cabin with sport brown accents on the seats and the instrument console.
Ford EcoSport Thunder features a 9.0-inch infotainment system as standard with GPS navigation, voice connectivity with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car also features an electric sunroof as a standard fitment. In terms of safety, the SUV gets ABS with EBD, rear parking camera as well as dual front airbags.
