Ford has revealed the 2017 EcoSport before its official debut at LA Auto Show 2016 in North America. The car will be brought in India in the second half of 2017. EcoSport looks even better than those digital renderings and uses a refreshed front fascia for an all-new impact on the car buyers. The two-piece grill has been replaced with a single hexagonal grill while the headlight and fog lamps are even offered with an all new design.
India-Bound 2017 Ford EcoSport Officially Unveiled
The front bumper looks mature now, carrying a silver skid plate and making the car feel more in-line with the 2017 range of Ford SUV’s. The side profile remains more or less the same as the earlier version while rear section brings a no-spare wheel look for a clearer tailgate. The same may not be skipped from the Asian models due to its popularity and exemption from car’s actual length. The new set of alloy wheels are actually much better than the current generation EcoSport alloy wheels.
The interior has been updated for a more enjoyable experience, thanks to the body colored inserts on the inside, which are clearly visible on the dashboard, door panels and seat covers. The steering wheel is new while the bigger and much better infotainment display for the SYNC3 infotainment system makes the car a complete package on its 2017 model. The instrument console stays the same and a different seat fabric design has been selected for the interior this time.
The car will be carrying the same set of diesel and petrol engines for India, the famous one out of them being the 1498 cc diesel motor producing 98.6 BHP and 205 Nm of torque. Even the 1.0 L EcoBoost petrol motor is on offer in the country, producing 123 BHP at 6000 rpm and 170 Nm at just 1400 rpm. 2017 Ford EcoSport will compete against Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Mahindra TUV300 in its segment.
