The all new five-door Honda Civic hatchback concept has made an official debut at the Geneva Motor Show today. At the front, the car gets a muscular well sculpted bonnet, with sleek LED headlights and DRLs underneath. The car also gets slender grille, contributing to the car’s new “provocative” design. The rear end of the Civic hatchback is quite imposing given the distinctive bumper design, center mounted dual exhaust and the C-shaped LED lights. The car has double spoilers, one mounted on the roof-end and the other interconnecting the tailights. Overall, the car features a very aggressive design.
The Civic hatchback will be available in three engine variants. A 1.0 liter, 1.5 liter i-VTEC turbocharged engines and a reworked 1.6 liter i-DTEC diesel variant. The engines will be mated to a manual six-speed gearbox with a CVT option separately available. The Honda claims its engines to be “class leading”. Dimensionally, the car is 130 mm longer, 30mm wider and 20 mm shorter than its sibling. The car also gets wider wheels. The improved dimensions and the updated set of wheels, and a shorter overhang give the car a more solid stance.
Honda Civic Hatchback will be available globally, but it will be built exclusively in Europe. It is expected to go on sale in Europe sometime in 2017.
