2016 Honda Accord India Launch on October 30

Honda Cars India had already hinted the launch of 2016 Accord in India in the upcoming festive season. According to a report by Zigwheels, the car will be officially launching on 30 October 2016. It was unveiled in its 9th generation at the Auto Expo and will soon be available in both the Petrol and Hybrid variant.

The current generation car is powered by a 2.4 L, 4-cylinder petrol engine in Thailand. It produces 171.6 BHP and 225 Nm of torque. The engine hinted by Zigwheels is 2.0 L, 4-cylinder petrol producing 140 PS and the same is expected to arrive coupled with 2 electric motors mated to a 1.3 kW Li-ion battery will produce 75 HP.

It will carry three driving modes named Electric Drive, Hybrid Drive and Engine Drive. The first drive mode can independently achieve a top speed of 120 kph. When on Hybrid drive mode, Honda claims a fuel efficiency of 23.8 kmpl, which would be great considering the size and class of the Japanese luxury sedan. It competes against Toyota Camry, Skoda Superb and the upcoming Volkswagen Passat.
