2019 Honda Brio to be Officially Unveiled on August 2, 2018

Petrolheads are waiting for August 2, 2018. The reason is that the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show is planned for that day and there are a lot of new cars that are waiting to be revealed to the world. Among these cars is the second generation of the Honda Brio.

The world premiere of the new Honda Brio is something that will excite the markets too much since it has been a long time coming, and while it was still in the concept design, Honda fans had been eager to sit behind the wheel of one.

2019 Honda Brio will be based on Small RS Concept

The new Brio has a similar styling to Honda’s Small RS Concept that was displayed at the 2018 Indonesia International Motor Show, and there are reports that the second generation of the car will get a similar body shell and will borrow the design features from the concept but the racy bits of the concept, like the faux diffusers and the body kit, will not make it to the final production car.

The design will feature some of the features from Honda that we have seen on the new Amaze, City, and Civic. The grille up front will be aggressive just like on the other Honda cars. And there will be a clear link to the first generation of the Brio, but that is going to be up to the second pillar. The rear door of the concept shows that the Brio will feature a much larger rear door and there will be a bigger boot space too.

The tailgate is the place where there will be the most noticeable change. Instead of the glass hatch that we saw on the first generation of the Brio, there will be a full tailgate. The interiors have not been revealed as of now, but it is expected that they will be similar to the ones that are seen on the other cars from Honda.

The company is unlikely to repeat the mistake that they made with the spartan cabin in the first generation of the car. There are no reports about the power-train as well; the expectation is that the car will be offered with petrol engines with options for manual and CVT gearbox. When it arrives, the Brio will butt heads with the Suzuki Swift, the Hyundai Grand i10, and the Kia Picanto.
