2020 Honda Jazz will make its official debut at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. Before that, the production-spec image has leaked online. The corners of Honda Jazz now feel rounded in comparison to the present generation car, resulting in a Wagon-style look with mild expressions and focus on practicality than the looks. The front is seen here with a large glass section before the first row windows, improving the visibility and reducing the window size for that iconic change in the front facial design.
Still, the glass area remaining dominating in both the rows for a roomier feel. The finish on the door handles, outside mirrors and roof will depend on the variant selected while headlights and taillights will feature LED lighting with projectors on the front end.
The re-designed tail section is not fully visible through the image but expecting impressive glass area around the boot, a shark-fin antenna, and decent bumper design lines are very obvious. The styling at most parts is inspired by the flagship cars from Honda while the basic focus remains on the increase in the passenger comfort at all times.
2020 Honda Jazz measures 3990mm in length and offer more width than the present day model. However, it will still fall under the low taxation segment and get a better cabin space than before. The international set of engines will include a turbo-petrol and hybrid option while the Indian market will retain the 1.2L petrol engine on the car.
The fate of Honda’s 1.5L diesel engine is uncertain as upcoming BS6 norms will require a lot more investment on the diesel cars in comparison to their petrol counterparts. The jump in price gap for petrol and diesel cars may serve as the reason for the diesel engine discontinuation in the country.
