New Honda City Launched in India; Full Price List Revealed
The new Honda City sedan has been officially launched in the Indian market with a starting ex-showroom price tag of INR 10.90 lakhs for the base 1.5L petrol variant while the 1.5L diesel version of the car starts at INR 12.40 lakhs. The updated model of the sedan is available in a total of five colours: Golden Brown Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, and White Orchid Pearl.
Featuring a more mature design language, the new model of the sedan is now 109mm more in length and is 53mm wider than the last-gen Honda City variant though the height of the sedan has been reduced by 6mm. The 5th-generation model measures 4,549mm in length, 1,748mm in width, 1,489mm in height and it has a wheelbase of 2,600mm. The boot capacity of the car stands at 506 litres.
Coming to the interior, the 2020 Honda City features an all-new black/beige colour scheme in addition to getting an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system while the AC vents are now positioned vertically. The 3-spoke steering wheel has been further equipped with cruise control and infotainment controls.
Mechanically, the car is available with two BS6-compliant engine options. The 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine is good for a maximum power of 121 HP @ 6,600 rpm and peak torque of 145 Nm @ 4,300 rpm. It is being offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox along with an optional 7-speed CVT unit.
The second engine option is a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel unit, which generates a maximum power of 100 HP @ 3,600 rpm and a peak torque of 200 Nm @ 1,750 rpm. The diesel engine is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. For now, Honda is not offering the new City in a diesel-automatic configuration.
