Next-Gen Honda HR-V India Launch by 2022: In a wise decision by Honda, the brand has decided to launch the all-new next-gen variant of HR-V midsize SUV in India by 2022. The carmaker in a recent statement announced that it has discontinued its Civic and CR-V models from the Indian market as the company has stopped production of its cars at the Greater Noida facility.

At present, Honda is selling only four cars in India namely Amaze, Jazz, City, and the WR-V, and lacks a midsize SUV that is a growing market for other carmakers in the SUV segment. The Japanese carmaker has already been selling the HR-V globally except India and has benefited from its sales. As per the details available, instead of the current-gen model of HR-V, Honda would be launching the next-gen model of the SUV in India by the year 2022.

The third-generation HR-V is going to be a 5-seater compact SUV and is expected to feature Honda’s latest global design evolution, offering a more premium look to the SUV and will grow a bit more in size in the comparison to the current-gen model.

The SUV will feature all-LED lighting in addition to featuring a tall stance with a good amount of ground clearance. The interiors of the 2022 Honda HR-V are expected to feature the latest design, style, entertainment features, and there will be advanced safety features as well.

The next-gen Honda HR-V is expected to come equipped with Civic’s petrol engine option. The 1.5-litre hybrid petrol engine could make its way along with the manual and automatic transmission. Set to make its official debut abroad sometime next year, the 2022 Honda HR-V launch in India will mean the carmaker will have a direct rivalry with popular midsize SUVs like Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos.
