Jeep Compass was nothing less than a revolution in premium compact cars in its initial days. The charm is fading away slowly, with more and more buyers considering the new Hyundai Creta for its value for money placement and list of features that are yet to arrive on the Jeep Compass. The engine performance of Compass is unmatched, to be very clear, but the gap in pricing fades away the results that are never explored on the Indian tarmac. Here are five reasons why Hyundai Creta is a better buy in comparison to the Jeep Compass:
The difference in price is explained clearly through the below-given table. The range for Creta starts at INR 9.50 lakh while Jeep Compass is more expensive than the top variant of Creta with its base version itself. The Compass comes with just 46mm of more wheelbase than the Creta.
Variant | Hyundai Creta | Jeep Compass |
Petrol Base MT | INR 9.50 lakh | INR 15.35 lakh |
Petrol Top MT | INR 13.66 lakh | NA |
Petrol Base AT | NA | NA |
Petrol Top AT | INR 13.54 lakh | INR 21.42 lakh |
Diesel Base MT | INR 10 lakh | INR 16.55 lakh |
Diesel Top MT | INR 15.10 lakh | INR 21.08 lakh |
Diesel Base AT | INR 13.26 lakh | NA |
Diesel Top AT | INR 14.94 lakh | NA |
Diesel Base 4×4 | NA | INR 21.35 lakh |
Diesel Top 4×4 | NA | INR 22.85 lakh |
Hyundai Creta is available with an automatic gearbox in the diesel engine, leaving fans happy as they get no gear changing stress with still an impressive number in fuel economy. Jeep is yet to offer the diesel AT variant and even when it arrives, the pricing will cross the INR 22 lakh mark for the 4×2 and INR 24 lakh for the 4×4 variant.
The design lines of Creta are so eye-friendly that finding a flaw is virtually impossible for every car fan. In fact, getting more than 10,000 buyers each month has made it more friendly than many deserving hatchbacks. The updated front grill and rear end feel like inseparable components of a single entity. On the other hand, Jeep Compass has the best ever front end for an SUV of this size but, lacks the charm on the rear end. It looks out of proportion and lifted from every rear angle.
Hyundai Creta may be priced much lower to the Compass variants but it offers futuristic features like Wireless Charger and Smart Key Band. Creta comes with a sunroof, which has also now been introduced in the Compass. The one is Jeep Compass is huge in comparison to the Creta’s sunroof. All other features stay similar between both cars.
Hyundai servicing and spare part prices are much lower than that of Jeep cars. Also, the availability of touch-points in every city makes the network stronger. The trust of buyers is higher in a brand with a more effective network. On an average, Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass have a sales ratio of 10:1, which seems like a much bigger number than most automobile enthusiasts would have imagined.
