The results for the ICOTY 2020 have been officially announced and Hyundai Venue has won the Indian Car of the Year award. The recently launched mid-size SUV is one of the most sought after cars in the Indian market considering its affordable price tag, splendid design as well as top-notch performance. For winning the “Indian Oscars” in the four-wheeler segment, a car must not only offer optimum performance but prove itself to be well-suited for the Indian market when it comes to offering utmost comfort, better fuel efficiency as well as bags a high score for the reliability and safety.
The Hyundai Venue took home the title of ICOTY 2020 by setting a total score of 111 points by battling a tight competition with the likes of Honda Civic, Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS, Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Nissan Kicks, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Renault Triber, and the Maruti Suzuki WagonR. Out of the ten finalists, the second position after the Hyundai Venue was scored by the recently launched Kia Seltos which witnessed a total 102 points from the jury. The last spot on the contender list was offered to the Renault Triber which was able to score a total of 52 points from the award jury.
The ICOTY 2020 has been specifically organized by JK Tyres since decades and is considered one of the most coveted awards in the country. The list of winners allows the readers to consider the expert judgement when it comes to spending their hard-earned money on a car.
In addition to this, JK Tyres have also announced results for the Indian Motorcycle of the Year as well as the Indian Premium Car of the Year for 2020. The Hero Xpulse 200 is the ultimate winner of the IMOTY 2020 while BMW 3-series sedan has been able to get the premium car of the year award.
The premium car of the year was chosen by the jury considering all the contenders above INR 40 lakhs. The jury decided on the final result based on comfort, luxury and performance offered by the contenders. The other finalists on the premium cars list included the likes of Audi A6, BMW X4 and X5, the Jeep Wrangler, and the Mercedes CLS.
