If a recent report is to be believed, 2017 Hyundai Verna will be launched in India in August 2017. The car will be a mild Hybrid and carries more features than both the tough rivals, Honda City and Maruti Ciaz. The appearance of the new car makes it promising among the both, benefited with Elantra inspired design and premium components. It will definitely get a price hike over the current generation model.
The exterior of the new Verna remains the same in comparison to the concept car that was showcased at 2016 Beijing Motor Show in April 2016. It features all-new styling that’s inspired from the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. 2017 Hyundai Verna features the latest sleek headlamps with projector lighting, hexagonal grille inspired from Audi, LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, sporty bumpers, redesigned C-pillar and a boot-integrated spoiler.
2017 Hyundai Verna India Launch by August 2017
The new Verna measures 4380 mm, 1728 mm and 1460 mm in length, width and height respectively. The wheelbase of the car stands at 2600 mm. Verna’s interiors are very promising and inspired from the all-new Elantra. 2017 Verna comes with all-new steering wheel, center console, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, leather seats and engine start/stop button.
The 1.4 and 1.6 liter petrol engine with a capability to generate 100 HP and 123 HP in China comes mated to 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes. However, the Indian variant of Verna is expected to have 1.4 litre or 1.6 litre CRDi diesel engines as well. The presence of already successful 1.6 liter petrol motor in Creta hints the same to be passed on to Verna in the coming months. It is still to be seen if Hyundai considers 1.4 liter unit from Hyundai i20 over the bigger engine.
