2017 Hyundai Xcent Launched in India @ INR 5.38 lakhs

2017 Hyundai Xcent has been officially launched in India for INR 5.38 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base petrol model. The car gets major cosmetic upgrades, new diesel engine and updated list of features. The top spec petrol model costs INR 7.09 lakh for the automatic variant. The diesel engine range starts from INR 6.28 lakh and goes up to INR 8.41 lakh. All these prices are ex-showroom Delhi. The front grill on the car is all new, resembling the one that was seen on 2017 Hyundai Elantra. The rear even provides an impressive taillight design.

The round front fog lights are replaced with horizontal units while the lower grill stretches to both the lights in a perfect manner. However, Hyundai could have even used the same face as the 2017 Grand i10 but got with this premium face for its compact sedan. The taillights are perfectly split between the boot and the body while they are even wider than before by a good margin. The rear bumper is even all new on the 2017 Hyundai Xcent.

2017 Xcent is powered by the same set of updated petrol and diesel engine as the new Grand i10. The diesel motor is 1.2 liter, 3-cylinder unit producing 74 BHP and 190 Nm of torque while the 1.2 liter petrol motor has 4-cylinders and produce 81.9 BHP as well as 113.75 Nm of torque. Both the engines are good for 5-speed manual gearbox. Hyundai Xcent offers 407 liters of boot space similar to the 2016 version of the compact sedan.

Key features include dual airbags as standard, rear air-conditioner vents, cooled glove box, rear defogger, reverse parking camera with sensors, rear seat armrest with cup holder, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, steering mounted controls, rear power outlet, smartphone holder with charger, battery saver and a gear shift indicator.
