2018 Hyundai i20 CVT Launched in India @ INR 7.04 lakh

2018 Hyundai i20 CVT has been launched in India from INR 7.04 lakh. This price tag belongs to the Magna trim as those looking for Asta will need to spend INR 8.16 lakh for getting their desired hatchback with an automatic gearbox.

Hyundai had a 1.4L AT variant for their pre-facelift i20 but that was priced higher due to a bigger engine. This time, they have corrected this mistake within the 2018 variant by launching both these options with a 1.2L petrol motor. The engine comes with 83 HP of maximum power and saves a lot of money when compared to diesel i20.

The models are yet to be listed on their official website. Also, recently launched Creta is seen missing from their price section. Hyundai i20 Elite is the most spacious car in this segment and it offers a 6-airbag option for Asta (O) buyers for maximum peace of mind,

Unfortunately, the automatic variant is INR 25,000 more expensive than the top spec safety loaded variant and offers the same number of features as Asta variant. Automatic variant thus misses on smart key, auto headlights, side and curtain airbags, projector headlights, push start button, rear seat armrest and rear washer/wiper.

Hyundai offers the automatic variants at a price gap of INR 1.04 lakh from their original manual counterparts while those looking for diesel engine will need to spend INR 1.38 lakh over the equally loaded petrol variant.

This helps Hyundai sell a healthy ratio of petrol and diesel cars as buyers looking for less than usual driving will consider saving this huge amount by going for the petrol engine. CVT gearbox is only available on petrol variants as Honda Amaze is the only car to offer automatic on a diesel engine under sub 4-meter segment in India.
