2018 Hyundai i20 Spied Testing, Launch @ Auto Expo 2018
2018 Hyundai i20 Spied Testing, Launch @ Auto Expo 2018: Hyundai Elite i20 is almost ready to get a face-lift and its recently spotted test mule further makes this claim stronger than ever. So where it that change? Let’s find out. The car seen here come with wrapped front and rear area.
Body profile, frame and everything under the skin remains exactly the same as present generation Elite i20. The changes will be seen on the boot area as Hyundai is expected to carry forward the lines from all new Verna to the premium hatchback. Expect the front section to get that familiar Hyundai hexagonal grill, along with a revised set of headlamps and fog lights.
The tyre section is seen in exactly the same shape and size as 2017 model. They could have brought the bigger 15 inch or 16 inch wheels to the base variant, helping it get the same stance as top spec Asta model.
However, previous spy shots reveal an all new alloy wheel design for the higher spec models. Interior design was not available in this spy shot but one can safely assume that color combinations can be altered to create a better cabin than the present generation car. The biggest change will actually be at the front only.
Hyundai is expected to retain the same set of engines for 2018 Hyundai i20 as they are quite powerful when compared to the competition around them. The 1.4L, four cylinder diesel engine is good for 88.7 BHP at 4000 rpm and 219.6 Nm at 1500-2750 rpm.
The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Petrol motor, on the other hand, is 1197cc, four cylinder unit producing 81.8 BHP at 6000 rpm and 114.7 Nm at 4000 rpm. Hyundai even offers a more powerful automatic petrol variant that come equipped with a 1.4L petrol motor producing 100 HP at 6000 rpm and 132 Nm at 4000 rpm.
