2019 Hyundai Santa Fe LWB Officially Unveiled in China

2019 Hyundai Santa Fe LWB has been introduced for the Chinese market, adding 100mm of additional wheelbase to the SUV. Not just that, the rear profile is now more in-line with the new Sonata. The model has been discontinued in India, with Hyundai offering the new variant in the international markets from last year itself. The front face now features a split headlight design with primary lights in the lower section and daytime running light on the top. The iconic Hyundai grille, bash plate, and alloy wheel design make the new China-spec Santa Fe a great option among the rivals.

The new Santa Fe features both six and seven-seat layout for the interior while the total increase in length for the model is 160mm. The interior features a new display for infotainment, a revised centre console and biometric authentication system that uses a fingerprint scanner in place of the regular push start button. The ultrasonic sensors inside the car alert the driver if anyone is still within the car once the lock button is pressed. The engine details for the model are yet to cleared while expecting the same units as the regular version is quite practical.

The Hyundai Santa Fe LWB may not make its way into the Indian market soon as the brand is focussing more on the volume generating products like the new Venue SUV. The sub-4m SUV is highly inspired by the Santa Fe design, taking design hints from even the Creta for a more practical look. Hyundai is also planning to update the Tucson with all the familiar SUV design lines while Elantra will definitely take design hints from the new Sonata. The model with captain seats in the middle row looks promising for those who need more legroom as the impressive length of the car brings more comfort to the passengers than regular SUVs of this segment.
