One of the most cherished SUVs in the Indian market, the Hyundai Creta has been able to win millions of hearts with its notable design language and power-packed performance. As per the reports, the brand is all set to launch the 2020 Hyundai Creta in the Indian market sometime in February next year, most probably at the Auto Expo.

The SUV will be basically a renamed version of the second-gen Hyundai ix25 that has been recently unveiled in China. Several details of the upcoming SUV have surfaced online giving the customers a subtle hint on what to expect from the next-gen model of the Creta.

Coming to the dimensions, the upcoming 2020 Hyundai Creta is 30mm longer than its predecessor while getting a decreased height of 8mm. The SUV now measures 4,300mm in length, 1,790mm in width and 1,622mm in height. The brand is expected to offer the India-spec model of the SUV with more ground clearance.

The upcoming Hyundai Creta is based on the new design language from the brand that is seen on the recently-launched Venue compact SUV as well as Hyundai Palisade, which is available in the international markets.

The 2020 model of the Creta gets a split headlamp design mated to the cascading grille with chrome surrounds at the front. The LED DRLs have been positioned at the front while the main cluster has been offered a separate enclosure just below it. The brand is expected to offer the next-gen Creta with a unique alloy wheel design. Coming to the rear profile, the 2020 Hyundai Creta now features a tweaked rear end with LED taillights mated to the tailgate.

In terms of interiors, the brand has equipped the updated SUV with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system placed in a vertical position while the comfort features offered to the SUV include cruise control, tilt-adjustable steering, ventilated front seats, a tyre pressure monitor system, an electric parking brake, a flat-bottom steering wheel as well as an automatic climate control system.

Powering the 2020 Hyundai Creta will be the Kia Seltos-inspired BS6 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options. Certain reports also suggest that the brand will also offer the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine with the upcoming Creta in addition to offering a mild-hybrid powertrain.

Once launched in India, the 2020 Hyundai Creta (ix25) will compete in the market with the likes of Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500, Renault Captur, and the Nissan Kicks.
