2020 Hyundai Elantra Launched in India Starting @ INR 15.89 Lakh

Hyundai has officially launched the 2020 Elantra in the Indian market and the company has updated the executive sedan with all-new styling and more equipment. The facelifted version of the Hyundai Elantra has been priced at INR 15.89 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base model while it is available in a total of four variants: S MT, SX MT, SX AT, and SX (O) AT.

Going by the exteriors, the car gets noticeable changes. The 2020 Hyundai Elantra gets the brand’s signature ‘cascading grille’ along with reshaped headlamps with LED DRLs. The bonnet of the car looks quite muscular while the updated model has got triangular fog lamps and new-design alloy wheels. The rear of the car has been updated too with re-profiled bumper and new-look wraparound tail-lights. The 2020 model of Elantra is available in five colour options namely black, blue, red, silver, and white.

Mechanically, the updated Elantra is available with only one engine option. It gets a 2.0-litre petrol engine that churns out 152 HP of maximum power along with 192 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The engine has also been upgraded to meet the BS-VI emission norms and it has resulted in no change in the fuel efficiency. Both petrol-manual and petrol-automatic have an ARAI certified mileage of 14.6 kmpl.

Coming to interiors, the car gets even more equipment in comparison to the last-gen model, including Hyundai’s new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It has an 8-speaker Infinity sound system, a tyre pressure monitoring system, smart boot, and wireless charging.

The 2020 Elantra also gets Hyundai’s connectivity suite – Bluelink, which debuted on the Venue compact SUV. The standard safety kit on the car includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill start assist and vehicle stability control. The bookings for the updated Elantra opened on September 25, 2019. It competes with the likes of Toyota Corolla Altis, Skoda Octavia, and Honda Civic in the Indian market.
