Hyundai’s premium brand Genesis has unveiled the first images of the all-new MY2023 G90 flagship sedan, “classmate” of the BMW 7-Series, Audi A8, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Jaguar XJL, and the Lexus LS. This new-gen model will be available in two options: a short-wheelbase variant and a long-wheelbase variant. The 2023 version is loaded with Hyundai’s cutting-edge technology and styling to offer the passengers an extra level of comfort. The G90 sports the Genesis portfolio’s most graceful exteriors and interiors to date.
Speaking of the front fascia, it gets an all-new crest grille and streamlined two-line headlamps, which are perfectly designed to look like the brand’s insignia. The clamshell bonnet strengthens the G90’s status as a best-in-segment sedan. The clamshell bonnet design features a single panel that fuses the bonnet and fenders to eradicate panel gaps, lending the G90’s smooth design. Looking at the rear end, this luxury car sports two-line combination lights that extend to the trunk.
On the inside, this next-gen model’s long wheelbase trim gets a roomy rear seat arrangement and a plethora of luxurious features like a quilted leather finish, ambient LED lighting, metal and wood accentuates with forged carbon surfaces, 10.2-inch rear entertainment touchscreens, antibacterial Silver Zinc Zeolite interior coating, and an eight-inch tablet with the UV light sterilised armrest box, to mention a few. Another elegant offering is the air purifier with built-in essences named “The Great Outdoors,” “The Driver’s Awakening,” and “My Favourite Place.”
In terms of mechanical specifications, the upcoming G90 sedan variant is going to be powered by a 3.5 T-GDi engine, while the long-wheelbase variant gets a 3.5 T-DGi 48V e-S/C engine. The first one is a 3,470cc petrol engine, while the second option also includes an electric motor in addition to the petrol engine. The engine is capable of churning out 380 PS and 530 Nm of torque, while the electric motor’s power/torque output is yet to be announced. This new-gen model will go on sale in South Korea next year before reaching other global markets.
