Hyundai has officially launched the MY2023 of the Grand i10 hatchback in India with a starting ex-showroom price tag of Rs 5.68 lakhs. It appears new because of significant styling changes. With a bigger grille and new LED DRLs, the front bumper has also been updated.
Though the wheels are new 15-inch diamond-cut alloys, the side profile is similar. There is a brand-new LED tail light cluster available that connects the two lights with a strip on the tailgate. Although it seems brand-new, the design has a faint Santro influence.
The interior is identical, with the same dashboard layout. There is a new instrument cluster design. It was before semi-digital, but now it has an analogue cluster with a multi-information display in the centre.
Fast USB [Type C] charging, LED tail lamps, cruise control, and footwell lighting are some of the key highlights. There are safety features like ESC, Hill Start Assist Control, ISOFIX, and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. Six additional airbags are available in addition to the four that are standard.
Hyundai no longer offers either a diesel engine or a turbocharged gasoline engine. There are now only two engine options for the Grand i10 Nios: 1.2-litre gasoline and 1.2-litre gasoline with CNG.
The 1.2-litre gasoline engine produces 113.8 Nm of peak torque and a max power of 83 PS. Both a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT transmission are available. The 1.2-litre petrol engine generates 95.2 Nm of peak torque and a max power of 69 PS in CNG mode. Only a 5-speed manual transmission is available with the CNG powertrain.
