2023 Hyundai Verna Sedan Spotted Testing for the First Time

Hyundai is currently working on the next-gen model of its c-segment sedan, the Verna, and now spy images of the model have surfaced online. The new model was spotted test driving on South Korea’s roads. However, the car was camouflaged completely, but still, one can get some idea about its design language. The test mule seems bigger in size than the previous model.

Speaking of the design updates, the sedan will have a long and low bonnet, as well as low-set headlamps that should link to the radiator grille. The car also includes vertically arranged fog lights, elegant ORVMs, and a window section that is quite similar to the side greenhouse on the existing Verna. The rear and front appearance of the 2023 Verna is extremely similar to the seventh-generation Elantra offered in Europe.

On the interior, the Verna might get a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The car might also feature a digital instrument cluster and amenities like wireless charging, ventilated seats, and automated temperature control, to mention a few.

Not much information is available about the powertrain, but the forthcoming model is likely to include 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. Both engines might use mild-hybrid technology, such as brake energy regeneration and idle start/stop.

Moreover, the current manual and automatic gearboxes are anticipated to be continued in the new model too. In terms of its launch, the sixth-gen model is most likely to come to our shores in 2023. And after being launched, the car is going to compete with the Honda City, the upcoming Skoda Slavia, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus.
