7-Seater Hyundai Creta SUV in the Making: According to recent reports, Hyundai is planning to introduce a 7-seater Creta variant that will compete in the Indian market against the likes of Mahindra XUV500 as well as the Tata Gravitas. The brand has recently unveiled the next-gen Creta at the Auto Expo 2020 while one can expect more information on the 7-seater version of the SUV in the coming months.
The render of the expected SUV has been revealed by SRK Designs from IAB and judging from the looks of it, the SUV looks like a stretched variant of the 5-seater Creta with a larger boomerang front grille mated to LED DRLS and projector headlamps. The Hyundai logo has been positioned just at the centre of the chrome grille while the lower bumper has been equipped with fog lamps with skid plates at the bottom.
The length of the Hyundai Creta has been increased to accommodate the third row of passengers while the wheelbase has also been increased. In addition to this, the floating roof design, as well as the diamond-cut alloy wheel setup in the 7-seater Hyundai Creta remains similar when compared to the standard 5-seater variant. The designers have not offered any interiors details on the upcoming SUV though one can expect the Korean manufacturer to offer a host of premium features to its next flagship product.
In addition to this, the upcoming SUV is expected to feature similar powertrains as offered to the recently launched Kia Seltos which includes a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine. The engines will be further mated to a manual and DCT gearboxes depending on the variant. There has been no official information revealed on the 7-seater Hyundai Creta though one can expect the SUV to feature almost identical designing traits as interpreted by SRK Designs.
