Hyundai Creta Sport could be the next big thing for the Indian market, expected to launch by the festive season. The latest model of the Creta Sport features a glossy black frame. The grille on the front is an all-black hexagonal one, and to increase the sportiness of the car, there are black outer rear view mirror caps, a black roof-mounted spoiler, black roof rails, gloss black finish above registration plate area, dual tone 17-inch alloy wheels, and gloss black bumper detailing.
On the inside, the first thing that you will notice is the exclusive ‘Sport’ door sills and an all-black interior. The black seats and the headliner match the exterior black detailing and there is a new BlueMedia infotainment system. This infotainment system comes with support for Digital TV, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.
The Digital TV may not be an India-specific feature as the government has not mentioned anything regarding live TV streaming inside the car. The sporty variant of the Creta SUV also gets offline navigation. The Creta Sport is powered by a 2.0-litre DVVT 16V flex-fuel petrol engine in the international market, putting out a maximum power of 156 hp and a peak torque of 187.31 Nm.
When powered by ethanol, the same engine puts out a maximum power of 166 hp and a peak torque of 210.04 Nm. The engine is mated with a 6-speed automatic transmission, which comes as standard on the Creta Sport. The SUV also sports a firmer suspension setup which gives a better driving experience and reduces the body roll around the corners.
Safety features such as front airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control (TC), and Hill-Start Assist (HSA) control come as standard. The Hyundai Creta Sport is available in eight colours in the international market: Polar White, Black Onix, Silver Metal, Silver Sand, Titanium Gray, Bronze Earth, Green Forest, and Red Chilli.
The compact SUV has been priced at BRL 98,990 in Brazil, which by direct conversion comes at INR 17.40 lakh. For India, the engine will stay 1.6L diesel while gearbox options will include 6-speed manual as well as automatic. The pricing in the Indian market will fall slightly above the current-gen top variant.
