The South Korean luxury brand Genesis that is owned by Hyundai has recently revealed the 2020 Genesis G80 sedan. Based on the design language of its bigger sibling Genesis GV80 SUV, the upcoming sedan looks ultra luxurious both from the interior as well as from the outside.
Coming to the front fascia, the sedan features a large crest grille which further houses the number plate. The brand has equipped the 2020 Genesis G80 with a split headlight setup which runs horizontally and in parallel to the LED DRLs. In addition to this, the tail light setup has also been offered a similar outlook where the indicators run in parallel to the LED strip units.
The roofline of the sedan has been offered a coupe-like stance while the side profile is accentuated by notable accents on the body panels. The spoiler is well integrated with the rear while the use of chrome on the body panels further adds to the premium outlook.
Coming to the interiors, the brand has equipped the Genesis G80 with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that is placed just behind the Hyundai-inspired steering wheel. The cabin is further equipped with a 14.5-inch infotainment screen that has been positioned elegantly on the wooden dashboard.
The gear knob inside the cabin has been imparted a shiny crystal-like finishing while the overall unique colour schemes for the upholstery adds to the luxurious stance. Other notable features offered to the premium sedan include the likes of autonomous braking, active cruise control, active blind-spot monitoring and more.
Powering the 2020 Genesis G80 is a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 304hp and a peak torque of 422Nm. Another powertrain includes a 3.5-litre turbocharged V6 petrol unit that is good for 380hp and 530Nm. Hyundai is expected to grace the Indian markets with the Genesis brand in the coming months though one can expect them to start with a powerful SUV considering the successful SUV market in India.
