Hyundai i20 Automatic Launched in India at 9.02 Lakh

The much talked, i20 Elite Automatic is now on sale in the country for a price tag of INR 9.02 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The car features the new 1.4 L engine from Hyundai, producing 100 PS | 132 NM and comes mated to a 4-speed AT gearbox. The engine is first being used in Hyundai Verna. The car was actually in production for some export markets but now, it will be sold alongside all others in the lineup.

The car is offered in the middle Magna trim, loosing on much of the important equipment and even the 16 inch alloy wheels. The touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control and reverse parking camera counts the major loss from the car. It is quite expensive when compared to the rivals while the powerful engine on offer may make the car feel at a nice point to many buyers.

The most expensive car of this segment is The Polo GT TSI while the only reason for placing the Hyundai i20 high can be the use of bigger engine under the sub 4 meter car, attracting more taxes into the ex-showroom price. However, dual airbags are available on the 1.4 Magna i20.
