Hyundai i30 N – 275 HP | 353 NM | 250 KMPH

Hyundai i30 N recently made its official debut in the world where fans go crazy for Honda Civic Type R and Volkswagen Golf GTI. What’s common in all three of them? They have a real definition for ‘Hot Hatch’ hidden under their performance spec bodies.

The N within Hyundai’s nomenclature stands for Nurburgring, pushing adrenaline rush with its name only. Few things that are exclusive to the car includes the fact that just a manual gearbox is on offer. Rest of all, it uses a powerful 2.0L, T-GDI engine that is good for 275 HP and 353 Nm of torque.

N division offers 6-speed manual gearbox that pushed the power to the front wheels only. i30 N claims 0-100 kmph in just 6.1 seconds while its top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph. Hyundai offers launch control, five driving modes, electronic suspension and N custom mode on the track spec car.

The lightweight body and high performance figures make this car a great option among performance friendly options of this segment. The brakes used here are bigger while other goodies like electronic slip differential and Michelin tyres are offered as standard.

Performance lovers can opt for bigger 19 inch Pirelli P Zero tyres as an option with the i30 N. Exterior of the car comes with all new bumpers, bigger air intakes and a rear integrated diffuser. Hyundai i30 is now available in standard, N and Fastback variant, making the range perfect for those who are new into performance and love track riding.

Indian launch is a big question as no such segment currently exist in our market. VW launched the Polo GTi in India last year but it didn’t do well and is now available with a massive discount of INR 6 Lakhs! The car is expected to get a price closer to Ford Focus ST while Golf GTI will be left alone for being more expensive than others.
