The car is powered by 2.0 L, turbocharged petrol engine producing 380 PS and 451 Nm of torque. The engine parts are now forged and it even uses an enlarged turbocharger for this increased power output. The car comes with dual-clutch transmission along with all wheel drive, electronic limited slip differential and variable exhaust system.

In collaboration with BASF, Hyundai has used a new high performance plastic material for the RN30 instead of the commonly used carbon fiber on such sports cars. The center of gravity has been lowered by pushing the seats to the lowest possible position. Much of the heavier parts have been removed from the car.

The car carries a lower, wider stance to ensure the stability at high speeds. The overall height has been lowered by 84 mm and the width has increased by 30 mm. The car uses distinctive headlight and DRL design. It also comes with 19 inch low profile tyres for better looks and stability. Hyundai is planing to take the N performance brand to another level by the introduction of such potential products internationally.

Albert Biermann, Head of Vehicle Test & High Performance Development for Hyundai Motor said; “RN30 embodies the concept of a strong, high-performance car that brings dynamic, sporty driving. Soon to evolve into our first N model, the RN30 is inspired by our passion to provide a high-performance car that our customers can enjoy effortlessly. We have drawn on our technological expertise – honed through our motorsport successes – to deliver emotional delight through an engaging blend of performance and control, the goal Hyundai’s N strives to achieve in future performance models.”
