As per one of the recent media reports, Hyundai Motor is currently working on the next-gen model of the Creta midsize SUV, as a new image of a camouflaged test mule of the upcoming car has appeared over the internet. The spy image indicates that the upcoming model will have a significantly revised front appearance. The design is now highly influenced by the new Hyundai Tucson and include some of the SUV’s eye-catching design features from its new ‘parametric dynamics’ theme.
We can have the idea from the available spy picture that the facelifted version is going to have a muscular bonnet, a new grille based on the brand’s new design language and streamlined split-style headlamps. The interiors of the upcoming car haven’t been seen yet however one can assume new materials, textures or some feature updates. The bodywork is likely to stay largely untouched, with the exception of some sharper-looking alloy wheels and deeper-cut bumpers.
While talking about the engine updates in the SUV, it seems to retain its present engine line-up. As per the currently available engines in the Indian market, there is a 1.5-litre petrol engine with 115 hp and 144 Nm, a 1.5-litre diesel engine with 115 hp and 250 Nm, and a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine with 140 hp and 242 Nm. Aside from a six-speed manual transmission, there are three automatic transmission alternatives.
In terms of the facelifted Hyundai Creta’s projected release date, it is likely to introduce in the Indian vehicle market by late 2022 or possibly early 2023. The current-gen model of the SUV was debuted in India in March 2020, following its worldwide premiere in China as the new iX25 in 2019, and has since been the segment’s best-selling SUV. Creta is one of the stylish SUVs in its segment and rivals the Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, and the MG Hector.
