The much-awaited next-gen Hyundai Creta was officially launched in India last year. The brand has equipped the updated model with a BS6-compliant engine in addition to offering a host of other cosmetic updates. The mid-size SUV was initially unveiled to the audience at Auto Expo 2020 and is available to the customers with three engine options. The deliveries of the SUV have been commenced in full swing and in terms of sales, the new model of Creta has managed to become the best-selling midsize SUV in India.
Coming to the updated front fascia, the new Hyundai Creta features a redesigned 3D cascading chrome grille while the headlight setup has also been revised and is now a triple beam LED setup which is a bit larger when compared to the last-gen Creta. In addition to this, the split LED DRLs are also new and take inspiration from the Hyundai Palisade.
The front bumper of the updated SUV has been tweaked a bit while the 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels are also new. The brand has further offered the SUV with a new taillights setup which resembles the headlight unit at the front. For the first time, the brand has offered the updated Creta variant with LED puddle lamps as well as intelligent interior lighting.
In terms of the cabin specifications, the new Hyundai Creta has been equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system in addition to getting premium leather upholstery, 8-way powered driver seat, automatic air purifiers, ventilated seat setup and more. The brand has equipped the updated SUV variant with a 7.0-inch coloured TFT instrument console, an audio system from Bose and various other connectivity features.
The All-New Hyundai Creta measures 4300mm in length, 1790mm in width and 1635mm in height. The wheelbase of the SUV stands at 2610mm while the customers can get their hands on the SUV in 5 trims namely E, EX, S, SX, and SX (O).
The SUV has been launched with three engine options namely 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre VGT diesel and the 1.4-litre Turbo GDI petrol. The 1.5L petrol and 1.5L diesel engines are capable of offering maximum power of 115HP while the torque output stands at 144Nm and 250Nm respectively.
The turbo petrol unit, on the other hand, is good for 140HP of power and 242Nm of peak torque. The engines have been mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard while the 1.5L diesel engine is available with an optional torque converter automatic gearbox, there’s an IVT gearbox for the 1.5L petrol engine and an optional 7-speed DCT gearbox for the turbo petrol engine.
