Next-Gen Hyundai i20 Starts Reaching Dealerships (Live Photos): The much-awaited next-gen model of the i20 hatchback has started reaching dealerships across India ahead of the official launch, which is expected to take place on October 28, 2020. As per the latest details available, the 2021 model of i20 will be available in the Indian markets in 4 variants – Magna, Sportz, Asta, and Asta (O). Judging from the overall new look of the next-gen i20, the hatchback looks more appealing when compared to its present-gen version while gets a more striking front profile. The 2021 Hyundai i20 features sharper accents on its body panels while getting a distinctive look at the rear as well.
The updated model of the hatchback features a larger front grille which is now much wider and mated to a revised bumper design that is a bit sportier when compared to the present-gen i20. The updated hatchback now features bigger air intake while the headlight setup is now much sharper.
Coming to the rear, the 2021 i20 features a uni-piece tail light at the rear with an LED strip connecting the two units in a “Z” pattern. The tailgate has been further equipped with an integrated roof spoiler that might not be available across all the trims.
Coming to the interiors, the updated hatchback has been equipped with the 2020 Hyundai Creta-inspired leather-wrapped steering wheel design. In addition to this, the hatchback now features a fully-digital instrument console as well as new buttons for the audio control. The dashboard has been equipped with a large infotainment touchscreen that is further compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in addition to getting Hyundai’s BlueLink connectivity technology.
The next-gen Hyundai i20 will be available with three engine options: a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre diesel engine, and a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol unit. Once launched in India, the 2021 model of the hatchback will compete in the market with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz, Honda Jazz and the Toyota Glanza while one can expect the updated price range to be around INR 6 lakhs to INR 10 lakhs (ex-showroom).
