Next-Gen Hyundai Verna Launched in India @ INR 7.99 Lakh

2017 Hyundai Verna has been officially launched in India with a starting price tag of INR 7.99 Lakh for the base petrol model and INR 9.19 Lakh for the base diesel model. Both these prices are ex-showroom Delhi. Next-Gen Verna is the next big thing for South Korean car manufacturer in India. The car was on sale in China from quite some time but it took a bit more time for its Indian arrival. A departure from the current generation design, the Next-Gen Verna Sedan uses Hyundai’s classy hexagonal grill and Elantra inspired design language.

The Next-Gen Verna looks clean and adds premium essence through its smooth boot design, eye catchy headlights and typical sedan aesthetics. More than that, buyers can now focus on their favorite shade as options have been expanded to Flame Orange, Fiery Red, Stardust, Phantom Black, Siena Brown, Polar White, and Sleek Silver.

2017 Hyundai Verna measures 4440 mm in length, 1729 mm in width and 1475 mm in height. It comes with a wheelbase of 2600 mm and carries a fuel tank capacity of 45 liters. The ground clearance of New Verna is 165mm and the boot space stands at 480 litres. The overall rise or drop in weight was still undisclosed but one could expect a drop as most car makers are using lighter and stiffer materials in car building these days.

New Verna can now be bought with just two engines, both being 1.6L petrol and diesel model respectively. The performance values remain unchanged for the car. It can be had in E, EX, SX ad SX (O) variants, all of them offering a variety of trims based on 6-speed manual as well as 6-speed automatic gearbox. The 1.6L petrol motor is good for 123 PS and 151 Nm of torque while 1.6L diesel motor is even more powerful with 128 PS of maximum power and 260 Nm of peak torque.
