Click Pictures of Illegally Parked Cars & Get INR 50 Reward: Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has recently announced a reward scheme for those who report an illegally parked car through a picture from their phone. The fine worth INR 500 will be imposed on the car owner while 10% of that (INR 50) will be rewarded to the complainant. However, exact details of how the system works has not yet been shared by any government portal. It was few months back when Mr Gadkari felt that cars were illegally parked outside the parliament, putting ambassadors and ministers into traffic jams and problem every single day. The realization of this fact took another 9 months as he went through 13 clearances for a single automated parking lot. Traffic jam is one of the biggest reason why Indians lose their cool right before starting anything good. Any one out of the huge 130+ crore population parks his/her car in a wrong way and long lines can be seen after that incident. People clearly use roads for parking and that can even be seen in the tightest possible locality in India. The move may only prove positive if government brings a good way to keep names of the complainant hidden or otherwise, powerful people will use their influence to sue the right one in a wrong manner. If this goes good, we may find people taking a walk everyday in order to report a dozen of cars and earn a good amount of money before sleeping. Thank you government, health and wealth is now finely balanced. Just kidding! Jokes apart but the problem of congestion is not that easy to eradicate as everyone might think. Large localities with 4 cars per house would find it hard to park all of them inside and thus, government may need to invest a lot before putting any such rule in action. A 112 car automated parking lot with total eight floor took INR 9 crore as investment.
