Jaguar XE Diesel was recently launched in India for INR 38.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The car now stands shoulder to shoulder with rivals like BMW 3-series, Mercedes C-Class and Audi A4 in India.
The entry of diesel engine took the total number of variants to six. Even after the launch of this new engine, Jaguar XE Pure Petrol remains the most affordable car in its lineup at INR 37.25 lakh. The variants on offer for both the models are Pure, Prestige and Portfolio.
Jaguar XE’s 2.0 liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine is good for 180 PS at 4000 rpm and 430 Nm at 1750-2500 rpm. The standard rear wheel drive Jaguar XE comes mated to 8-speed automatic gearbox and claims 0-100 kmph sprint in just 7.8 seconds.
Jaguar claims a top speed of 228 kmph for the diesel variant while the petrol car is better at 237 kmph. Sharing the same gearbox, the 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol engine is good for 200 PS and 320 Nm of torque.
Jaguar India offer more features on the diesel variant as adding Jaguar Drive Control with modes like Normal, Eco, Dynamic and Rain/Ice/Snow makes it even more effective than ever.
Jaguar XE Diesel comes with 8-inch touch infotainment system, 80W Jaguar Sound System, leather upholstery and even 380W Meridian sound system on Prestige as well as Portfolio trim. The prices for both the upper trims are yet to be announced while booking for the XE Diesel started a month ago in India.
