2018 Jeep Wrangler was recently revealed at 2017 LA Show for the first time. Jeep JL, the codename for 2018 Wrangler, enters its fourth generation after the initial launch in 2016. The new model will be made in both two and four door variants.
Buyers in the US will get different combinations for doors, windshield and roof while India will get the most loaded trim with no alteration options at all. The least curved body structure remains more or less intact on the 2018 Jeep Wrangler. Buyers with the last year model won’t mind much from the newcomer.
It flaunts a 7-slat front grille, round headlamps and squarish body components at all ends. Jeep seems to work a bit more on detailing department as its front grille now offers 3D feel with its backward leaning upper half.
Both the extended fenders are not covered with LED daytime running lights while outer section of the same area holds the turn indicators
The smaller model now gets fixed pillars while only windshield can be moved over its bonnet. Jeep offers Sport, Sahara and Rubicon models with its launch. A 3.6L V6 petrol will stay standard on all these models.
India spec Jeep Wrangler will use the 3.0L V6 diesel engine that may appear late in the US market. Before June 2018, Jeep won’t be able to produce its RHD variant and thus, India will need to wait till end 2018 or early 2019 for this product launch.
Present generation of Jeep Wrangler in India offer Unlimited trim, carrying 5 seats and a total length of 4583 mm. Engine on offer is even smaller with just 2776 cc of displacement and 460 Nm of torque from 1600-2000 rpm. It comes mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox and costs INR 64.45 lakh for the diesel model.
