The BS6 Jeep Compass SUV lineup has been officially revealed by the brand. The price range of the updated model now starts from INR 16.49 lakh and goes all the way up to INR 27.60 lakh. The brand has officially removed the Longitude (O) and Limited variants from the SUV lineup. Apart from the Jeep Compass Trailhawk, the BS6-compliant engine has been offered to only four existing trims.
The BS6 Jeep Compass diesel now starts at INR 17.99 lakh which is quite hefty when compared to its BS4 price tag. The prices of the SUV have been revised not only due to the BS6 switch but also due to the discontinuation of the entry-level Sport variant.
The BS6 Jeep Compass Sport Plus is now the entry-level variant of the SUV which has already been shod with multiple premium features like 16-inch alloy wheels as well as the adjustable wing mirrors. In addition to this, the Sport Plus variant also features dual-zone climate control and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The brand has equipped the entry-level variant of the BS6 Jeep Compass SUV with a standard safety package that includes dual front airbags, traction control, electronic stability control, and disc brakes at the rear.
The customers can avail the BS6 Jeep Compass Sport Plus variant in two powertrains namely a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol unit and a 2.0-litre diesel unit. The former is capable of generating maximum power of 163HP while the latter is good for 173 HP. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard.
In addition to the Sport Plus variant, the SUV can be availed in three more trims namely Longitude, Longitude Plus and Limited Plus. The Jeep Compass Longitude in addition to featuring all the premium bits of the entry-level variant features additional quirks like 17-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, front and rear fog lamps, a parking camera and more.
The Longitude trim is only available to the customers with a diesel engine while one can also choose the 9-speed automatic gearbox as an option. The brand has further equipped the diesel-automatic SUV variant with a 4WD system in addition to offering the Jeep Selec-Terrain traction system.
The Longitude Plus trim of the BS6-compliant SUV can be availed with a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine which is further available with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox only. On the other hand, the 2.0-litre diesel engine can be availed with both manual and automatic gearboxes. The additional features offered to the Longitude Plus trim of the SUV includes Bi-xenon HID headlights mated to LED DRLs as well as leather seats inside the cabin.
The top-level Limited Plus features similar powertrain options as that of the Longitude Plus trim though the safety package has been enhanced for the SUV. It features six airbags as standard, dual-tone colour schemes,18-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlight and wipers.
The brand has further equipped the SUV with a panoramic sunroof while the dashboard has been shod with an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and leather upholstery. The recently launched BS6 Jeep Compass SUV competes in the market against the likes of the upcoming Skoda Karoq and the recently launched Volkswagen T-Roc.
