FCA Recalls 2.09 Lakh Vehicles Including the New Jeep Compass SUV

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has announced a global recall of some vehicles in their lineup. The reason for this recall is the faulty brake system and it includes the 2018-2019 Jeep Compass, 2018 Dodge Journey, 2019 Jeep Cherokee, and the 2018-2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. The company has let know that the faulty brake system causes the formation of a bubble in the brake fluid due to a manufacturing error.

Although the braking system will still work, the formation of the bubble will cause the braking distance to increase. There have been no reports of any accidents or complaints by the customers in this regard. The estimated number of units that will be affected by this problem is 2,09,000 units and the majority of them are manufactured in the United States of America. The models that the company exported from the USA to the other countries will also face the same problem. The customers who are going to be affected will be officially contacted by the company and they will need to take their vehicles to their nearest service centers to get the problem fixed. The technicians have already been advised on the process to fix the problem and the customers will have to pay no extra charge for the problem.

The Compass is being manufactured in India and it has been the turning point of FCA’s presence in India, which was on the edge of being obliterated. Things have turned around and the company is planning to bring newer models in the Compass lineup, which will soon include a TrailHawk variant. The company is also planning to bring in a new diesel variant that will have an automatic transmission. The TrailHawk variant will be powered by the same diesel engine that we saw on the Compass diesel modes.
