The next-gen Jeep Wrangler has officially arrived in India at a starting price tag of INR 63.94 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV has been offered a revised design language while the off-roading capabilities still prevail. The brand will be bringing the Jeep Wrangler as a CBU (Completely Built-Up) unit in India. The boxy off-road SUV is only available with a petrol engine and features a host of contemporary components.
The 2019 Jeep Wrangler has been equipped with premium aluminium components though, the steel body of the SUV is retained. The SUV features a 7-slot grille at the front that has been mated to round headlamps. In addition to these, the brand has now equipped the Wrangler with LED headlamps surrounded by LED DRLs and LED units at the rear. The rear bumper of the offroad SUV now features a more muscular look while the wheel arches are now more flared.
Coming to the interiors, the next-gen Jeep Wrangler has been offered a redesigned dashboard design which complements its premium stance. The brand has equipped the SUV with an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The traditional outlook for all the mounted controls remains the same while the all-black leather-interior further adds to its exclusive looks.
According to the reports, the new Wrangler is 130mm longer, 17mm wider and 9mm taller when compared to its previously available version. Powering the 2019 Jeep Wrangler is a new 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 270HP and a peak torque of 400Nm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The brand has equipped the updated SUV with its SelecTrac 4×4 drivetrain system. The engine is BS4-compliant though the brand is likely to make it BS6-compliant before April 1, 2020. The standard safety kit includes ABS with EBS, dual airbags at the front, traction control, hill assist and more. The brand is offering a 2-year warranty with the purchase of every 2019 Jeep Wrangler.
