The 2020 Kia Mohave full-size SUV has been officially debuted by the brand in its home market South Korea. Built on a ladder frame chassis, the Kia Mohave will be launching in select markets by the end of the year. The SUV is based on the Mohave Masterpiece concept that was initially showcased at Seoul Motor Show 2019.
The brand has not offered any Kia badges to the 2020 Mohave, making it one of the exclusive editions sold in the international markets. Kia has offered an update to the SUV after 11 years of its initial launch. According to the reports surfaced, the production variant of the Kia Mohave will get toned down features and at the same time, the brand will be tweaking the gear ratios for the same.
The extraordinary Mohave Masterpiece concept has been toned down by the brand to offer a conventional look to the SUV that is acceptable across every market. At the front, the Kia Mohave features a sturdy-looking tiger-nose grille. The headlights have been divided into four illuminating lights at either side that offers the SUV a premium exclusive look.
The front bumper of the SUV has been equipped with twin fog lamp cluster that has been offered a horizontal profile while mated to a horizontal air-intake at the centre. The rear end of the SUV features LED tail lamps in addition to dual trapezoidal chrome exhaust tips at either end. The rear panel of the SUV also features 4-wheel drive badge, besides the V6 engine moniker.
Powering the Kia Mohave will be a 3.0-litre V6 engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 260 HP and a peak torque of 560 Nm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. There have been no official details surfaced online regarding the SUV’s interior and other mechanical specifications.
The brand recently launched the Kia Seltos in the Indian market and plans on launching the Carnival MPV at the Auto Expo in February 2020. There has been no confirmation on the launch of Kia Mohave in India as of yet though according to the rumours, the SUV could hit the Indian roads by the end of the next year.
