Carens, Kia’s fourth offering in the country, is going to hit the Indian roads soon and the bookings are going to commence from January 14th, 2022. But now, ahead of its official launch, the official brochure has leaked and revealed all the details related to its features, technology, and variants. As per the leaked information, the forthcoming MPV will be offered in five variants named Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus.
Painted in eight attractive colours like Imperial Blue, Moss Brown, Sparkling Silver, Intense Red, Clear White, Aurora Black Pearl, Gravity Grey and Glacier White Pearl, the 2022 Kia Carens will come with a choice of six and seven-seater configurations. In terms of dimensions, it is measured as follows: 4540mm in length, 1800mm in width, and 1708mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2780mm.
Speaking of the mechanical specifications, the Kia Carens will have three powertrain options. The first one is the 1.4-litre Smartstream petrol T-GDI engine, which is capable of churning out 140 PS and 242 Nm of torque. The second one is the 1.5-litre Smartstream petrol engine that produces 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque, while the third one is a 1.5-litre CRDi VGT diesel engine that generates 115 PS and 250 Nm of torque. These engines are paired with either a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed DCT automatic, or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Looking at the features offered in the premium variant, the Kia Carens comes outfitted with LED headlamps, LED DRLs, chrome finished door handles, a radiator grille with chrome detailing, flared wheel arches, and alloy wheels. While the interior will be loaded with dual-tone black and beige coloured semi-leatherette upholstery, a height and headrest adjustable driver’s seat, a 7.5-inch LCD cluster, power sockets, and five USB Type-C slots. The top-spec variant, Luxury Plus, gets a skylight sunroof, spot lamps on its rear door handles with Kia logo projection, a Bose Premium sound system with 8 speakers, wireless charging, and paddle shifters.
