Kia Carens Official Sketches Released; Global Debut on December 16

Kia is all set to debut its upcoming MPV, Carens, on December 16, 2021, and ahead of its debut, the brand has released its official sketches. The upcoming MPV was spotted several times while testing in the country. Now with the sketches, the front, rear, side, and dashboard designs have been unveiled. Featuring the Korean automaker’s “Opposites United” design ideology, the recreational vehicle, as the brand calls it, will be the brand’s fourth model in our market.

While looking at the sketches, we see the Y-shaped LED DRLs, and this design is identical to the taillamps of the Lamborghini Urus SUV. The upcoming MPV carries a split headlamp design that is now popular in various vehicles. Moreover, the test mules spotted were equipped with halogen headlights, while the top variant will be offered with an LED setup. The front fascia looks quite aggressive, with a faux skid plate and flat bonnet giving it a muscular appearance.

On the side profile, there are 5-spoke alloy wheels, which are anticipated to be diamond-cut ones. The two prominent creases that run from the front and rear fenders to the doors, roof, and windows are very similar to the Seltos on the Kia. The 3-row vehicle gets new impressive taillights with a full-width light bar, along with a tailgate and an aggressive rear bumper. The brand has also released the interior sketch, which depicts the modern and elegant cabin perfect for Indian families.

On the inside, there is a wrap-around dashboard, chrome embellishment almost everywhere, a 10.25-inch multifunctional display, and a multi-function steering wheel, as shown in the sketches. When it comes to powertrains, the forthcoming Carens MPV is likely to be powered by the same 1.4-litre turbo-petrol (140 ps and 242 Nm), 1.5-litre diesel (115 ps and 250 Nm), and 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol (115 ps and 144 Nm) engines that are currently offered in the Kia Seltos. The brand is likely to offer both automatic and manual gearboxes in the Carens.
