KTM X-BOW GT-XR Road-Legal Race Car Makes Official Debut

KTM produces single-cylinder and twin-cylinder motorcycles in a variety of segments. The Austrian manufacturer is also well-liked in India. But they also manufacture supercars and the most recent one will cost you Rs 2.26 crore. The X-Bow line has been around for over a decade, so this is not KTM’s first foray into automobiles. The first generation was a stunner with an open roof design that debuted in 2008.

The design is eye-catching from every angle and is truly a work of art. KISKA, the same design firm that creates KTM motorcycles, created the supercar. The taillights on the KTM X-BOW GT-XR are unique. Each of the four taillight units in one taillight cluster is sourced from Husqvarna motorcycles.

KTM had to provide AC to make this car road legal, which is mounted on the engine and then re-routed to the front via Audi A3 vents. KTM X-Bow GT-XR also receives numerous aerodynamic upgrades, including a rear spoiler that is smaller than that of the GT4. It is attached from the bottom.

GT-XR features a carbon fibre monocoque chassis and bodywork inspired by Formula 3. The Audi-sourced 2.5L 5-cylinder petrol engine with 500 bhp and 581 Nm is mounted in front of the rear axles, so the GT-XR is not a mid-engined supercar. With Audi’s 7-speed DSG, it has a top speed of 280 km/h and it can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and from 100 to 200 km/h in 6.9 seconds.

KTM is producing 100 of these models, each of which will cost $284,700 (Approx Rs. 2.26 crore before taxes). It is in the works and will compete with track machines from Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, and others.
