Land Rover has recently launched the second-gen 2020 Range Rover Evoque in India. The updated model of the Evoque SUV starts at INR 54.94 lakh while the price range goes all the way up to INR 59.85 lakh for the top-spec model. The prices mentioned here are ex-showroom India. The smallest Range Rover is available in two engine options and two variants – S and R-Dynamic SE.
The price of the entry-level model of the 2020 Range Rover Evoque has been increased by INR 2.90 lakh (approximate). The new range-topping variant – the Evoque D180 R-Dynamic SE has been priced at INR 59.85 lakh, which costs about INR 3.11 lakh less than the previously available top-spec HSE Dynamic variant.
If we look at the entry-level model, Land Rover has equipped the 2020 Evoque SUV with loads of comfort and luxury features. It gets automatic LED headlights with DRLs, a powered tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, heated wing mirrors, two-zone automatic climate control, 18-inch alloys, leather seats and steering wheel, push-button engine start/stop system, 40:20:40 split/folding rear seats, cruise control, 10-way power-adjustable front seats, cruise control and Land Rover’s Terrain Response 2 all-wheel-drive system as standard.
In addition to that, the 2020 Range Rover Evoque also gets a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, navigation, JLR’s Connect Pro in-car connectivity suite and a high-quality speaker system.
Mechanically, the 2020 Range Rover Evoque comes with JLR’s Ingenium line of BS6-compliant petrol and diesel engines. The 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel unit (D180) is good enough to produce 180HP of maximum power and 430Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo petrol unit with an option of 48V mild-hybrid system produces 249HP of maximum power. Both the engines come mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
The safety features on the SUV include six airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts at the rear, emergency brake assist, stability control, traction control, a pedestrian airbag, hill ascent and descent assist, a rear camera with front/rear sensors and lane keep assist as standard. The 2020 Range Rover Evoque will compete with the likes of BMW X3, Audi Q5, and Mercedes-Benz GLC in the Indian market.
