All-New Range Rover Velar SUV Officially Unveiled

Land Rover recently revealed their fourth product in the Range Rover lineup. Velar, the name that was heard back in 1970s, is back with a bang and ready to bridge the gap between Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Sport. It will get an official debut at 2017 Geneva Motor Show and would arrive in Velar as well as Velar R-Dynamic range. Both of these are to be offered in four grades – Standard, S, SE and HSE. A special ‘First Edition’ model is even on offer for the first year.

Range Rover Velar is based on the lightweight aluminum architecture and follows the same design lines as others members of the Range Rover family. Velar is offered with full LED headlight while its front grill is larger but similar to the one seen on Evoque. The wheelbase stands at 2,874 mm while the car offers Blacked out pillars. The twin chrome exhausts on the Velar are neatly studded into the rear bumper. Velar comes equipped with skid plates under both the bumpers.

Land Rover has equipped the same with 20-way adjustable front seats that offer cooling, heating and massage function. The rear seats even offer electrical recline function. Velar comes with two 10 inch screens that helps in all around connectivity on the car. The higher variants are even offered with 12.3 inch instrument console with turn by turn navigation. The boot space on the newcomer if 673 liters, making it good for occasional family outings. It even comes with air suspension for variable ground clearance up to 50 mm.

Velar comes with two petrol and diesel engine options. The 2.0 liter petrol motor engine is good for 250 PS and 365 Nm of torque. The bigger 3.0 liter V6 is good for 380 PS and 450 NM. On the other hand 2.0 liter diesel motor produces 180 PS and 430 Nm of torque while the bigger 3.0 liter motor produces 300 PS and 700 Nm of max torque. Velar adds safety through 6 airbags, dynamic stability control, traction control, cornering brake control, roll stability control and emergency brake assist.
