Mahindra KUV100 got itself an all-new dual tone edition for INR 6,44,594 (Ex-showroom Mohali). The car comes with Red body paint and contrast Black roof, carrying even more sportier 15 inch dynamic alloy wheels. Mahindra moved further by providing premium, all Black interior with carbon fiber finish on the dashboard and door panels. The front and middle pillars are finished in all Black while the C-pillar comes with upper Black section and lower Red finish. The car even comes with Gloss Black interior door panels.
The diesel edition for the same costs INR 7,36,419 (Ex-showroom Mohali). The edition is based on the top spec K8 variant, carrying all the features that are provided on a standard KUV100. The front middle seat is one of the most happening factor inside the car as it doubles up as one of the most practical armrest among other cars in its segment. The details on the interior finishing are worth mentioning as Mahindra has very cleverly finished the panels in three different shades of Black.
KUV100 is even one of the most practical car of its segment. When we drove the same with 5 passengers over the rough surface, it hardly felt uneasy to anyone in the car. There was no underbody damage or even a single moment of touch on the test car. Being the torque rich diesel variant, it simply went off with the left foot away from the pedal. Mahindra has equipped the same with LED daytime running lights while the front section looks really amazing with the extended glass sections in the fenders. Here’s more to come on the KUV100.
The all Black interior looks two times better than the dual tone version. It comes with a brilliant instrument console section, carrying thick Red needles for sporty character. The center console is packed inside a rectangular section with silver outline. The same section holds the music player while also carrying the 5-speed gearbox of the car. The front air vents are beautifully finished while the rear seat gets 3 fully adjustable headrests for maximum comfort. The front headrest commands respect and provides space for people to hold for easy ingress and egress.
Mahindra KUV100 is powered by 1198cc, three-cylinder diesel motor that produces 77 BHP at 3750 rpm and 190 Nm between 1750-2250 rpm. It comes with a 5-speed gearbox. The other engine on offer is 1198cc, three-cylinder petrol motor producing 82 BHP at 5500 rpm and 115 Nm at 3500-3600 rpm. This engine even offers just 5-speed manual gearbox. The engines are BS4 compliant while the car comes with standard ABS on all its variants. The dual tone airbags are standard on the top spec variants while they are even offered as optional on the lower spec KUV100 variants.
KUV100 actually uses lots of first in-class features like front underseat storage, storage space under rear foot board, flat rear foot board and cup holders in front armrest. The front, side and rear cladding looks amazing as it helps the car in maintaining the tall boy look while keeping the tough look alive. The rear handles are integrated into the window and may help few people fulfill their coupe like design dream from the new dual tone KUV100. It even brings roof rails into the hatchback dominated section.
The headlamps offer a nice view from the front. This is even the thinnest upper grill on any of the present Mahindra car.
